spiritualinspiration:

"Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

You are God’s representative in this earth. When you follow the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are letting your light shine. When you are good to people and show them kindness, even when they don’t deserve it, you are shining your light. When you smile and keep a good attitude, even when things don’t go your way, you are setting an example so that people will glorify God in heaven. Notice this scripture says, “they will see your good works…” People aren’t impressed by our knowledge or what we say, people are drawn to God by our good works.

Ask the Lord to show you ways to share His goodness with others. Look for opportunities to let your light shine everywhere you go - at home, at work, in the grocery store, at the gym. There’s always an opportunity to be an example of God’s goodness. As you do, it will bring honor and glory to God; and when you honor Him, He always honors you. He will continue to pour out His abundant blessing in every area of your life.
Anonymous said: hey there, I was wondering if you went to kenya by yourself or if there was a group or organization that you went with? I really want to go but I have no clue where to start looking for volunteering opportunities and such :)

Then I was like:

I’ve been involved with a group in Kenya for several years through my church and the team I went with was through my school and church teaming up. My dad had gone 2 times prior to my going, so I already had had connections for a while.
I definitely think its something to pray about. God will provide you with opportunities if you’re called to go. There’s many different organizations you can look into just by googling it. Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever go on another short term overseas trip again. The next trip I participate in will be over a period of a few months in which I will work myself to the bone in every opportunity and situation given. I also suggest you go on multiple outreach trips right in your own town, there’s a lot you can do even right here at home. Whatever you do, seek God about it all first and He will show you where He has called you :) God bless!
